I Can See It...

(November, 7, 2008)

I always thought you were
a scab
that wouldn't go away.
I always thought you were
a scab;
But, when I picked and pulled
you always remained.
Now I fall apart and realize
you're my sting,
you're the outside connection
to the deepest part of me.

It makes me shiver;
it makes me cry;
it makes me smile and miss.
You're my sting,
you're the outside connection
to the deepest part of me.

You are heart.
You are courage.
You are inspiration.
You are my string.

I can see it.
I can see it.

Capering Shadows

“Shadows”
(10/29/05)
There’s conversation going on
But I’m to absorbed in the taste
To hear what’s being said
Bittersweet melting
Gazing past
The background comes to view
Encased in a clear display
A glass platter with lavender pickings
And through the reflection
Shadows

“Capering Shadows”

(10/29/05)
Comfort and misery,
Capering shadows,
Dim my view.
Am I lost in the past
Or growing from it?
The flame of the night,
Vanished.
The only remains,
My melted wax
Clinging to the burnt wick,
Of my stolen ashes.
The wind and the rain
Spark my soul,
Glowing to the night’s
Vanished flame.
Found
Hiding in the
Capering shadows.

String

(10/18/05)
I keep it close, careful not to let go
But there are times I slip
And when I’m not looking
You grab hold

This string I have
Clutches to my soul
With the slightest touch
I come tumbling down
Then slack’s only growing
Unraveling till I’m gone

Lost in the memories
Smiling though an endless rain
Flooding emotions
You’re almost here

But then I’m tickled by the end of my string
Life’s kicking me
Pushing it back
Wrapping up my soul
I cling tight to the dangling end
Of the deepest part of me

Roll Me Back

(9/26/05)
Roll me back in time she sings,
Oh but won't you.
Don't need to be no fly on the wall,
A tumbleweed works just fine for me.
Your breeze washing over me,
To be in your atmosphere,
Smell so sweet
And feel glassed to the touch.
To be by the glow from your eye
Oh what I wouldn't.
...A rain maker in the desert she dances on,
Oh but it couldn't be any more true.
Roll me up.
Let a few twigs brake off.
I'm ready just give me the lift,
And roll me back in time.
